Day 14 Arrival in the Venice-ish Area

So today we boarded the bus early this morning and headed off to Venice. It was a 4.5 hour cramped ride. The bus is completely packed from everyone's luggage and there were actually about 5 bags that had to be put in the middle stairwell because we were out of room under the bus. The ride went smoothly though with the two of us napping and snacking and listening to music.

Once we arrived in Venice we got our bags and walked the block to the hotel, carried our bags up to the second floor and started to unpack. We are staying in a small town Jesolo right outside of Venice just a water taxi away. We are staying in a room with 2 other girls so there are 2 twin beds and a set of bunk beds. This hotel was a huge step up from the last one with a more normal shower that has actual doors that shut (woot woot!) a ceiling fan, free wifi (which I'm using right now to type this on!) and not much but a bit of walking space! YAY!

However I did say was because at about 8pm the power went out and we just got it back on at 10pm. They still aren't sure why it went out but whatever it is back on! While it was out though I managed to shower in the dark and shave my legs in the bedae (spelling??) while Cindy held a flashlight for me so I could see. Gee what a great bonding experience.

Earlier though after we arrived we headed out for a light dinner of sandwiches and watched the Argentina vs. Germany soccer game and Germany won!!!!! We were super excited, 4 to 0. YAY!!!! We are hoping we will be in Munich or Heidelberg for the finals.

Now we are getting ready for bed for our early 6am wake up call so we can catch the water taxi to Venice.
